Welcome! Pathways is a joint-project between the New York Library Association (NYLA) and the Syracuse University School of Information Studies (iSchool) which seeks to build a foundational understanding of barriers that people of marginalized identities (BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, people with disabilities, etc.) face in the library profession in order to develop and pilot meaningful innovations across state and local systems.
Update (June 2025):
In accordance with the court’s Preliminary Injunction Order of May 13, 2025, in State of Rhode Island, et al. v. Trump et al., case no. 1:25-cv-00128, the Institute of Museum and Library Services has reinstated the Pathways to Librarianship federal grant (Grant Award No. RE-252365-OLS-22). The research team is currently working on plans for next steps.
Per the reinstatement letter, IMLS has informed us that an appeal of the court’s Preliminary Injunction Order is pending, which may affect the reinstatement status of the grant in the future.
Further updates will be posted when available.
