Pathways to Librarianship

Welcome! Pathways is a joint-project between the New York Library Association (NYLA) and the Syracuse University School of Information Studies (iSchool) which seeks to build a foundational understanding of barriers that people of marginalized identities (BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, people with disabilities, etc.) face in the library profession in order to develop and pilot meaningful innovations across state and local systems.

Please note: as of April 15, 2025, the IMLS grant funding the Pathways to Librarianship project was terminated per Keith Sonderling, Acting Director.

Further updates will be posted when available.

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
